Being a health care leader frequently means navigating treacherous terrain: regulatory updates. We surveyed 80,000 employees last year, asking them to rate their agency in 7 categories. Training received was the second lowest score. Considering the current state of the workforce, the takeaway is clear: Home-based care becomes a high-turnover industry when employees don't see their place in it long-term.
As an industry, we’re losing home-based care workers faster than we can hire them. 57% of employees leave their agency within the first 3 months of employment, and those who do stay are likely to be unengaged, burnt out, or actively seeking new opportunities (sometimes outside of the care continuum).
