Infection Control in Home Care and Hospice

This course contains information on infection control in home care and hospice environments. It takes approximately one hour to complete. The course is part of the HCI compliance library.

Assess a patient’s infection symptoms, determine if it is a facility or home care-associated infection, and respond accordingly.
Describe at least three challenges associated with infection control that pertain uniquely to providing care in a home setting.
Identify what items of PPE are needed for all standard and transmission-based precautions situations.
Recall the three steps that must be taken when an employee is exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
