This course focuses on the role of managers and leaders in ensuring compliance and survey readiness using three resources:

Conditions of Participation (CoPs) in subpart C
The State Operations Manual: Appendix M – Guidance to Hospice Surveyors
The 2019 Office of Inspector General (OIG) report entitled Hospice Deficiencies Pose Risks to Medicare Beneficiaries.
Part 2 of this series will cover Conditions of Participation Subparts B and D.

List three resources managers and leaders can use to improve their knowledge of hospice regulations.
Differentiate between hospice regulations and interpretive guidelines.
Relate survey outcomes to the hospice organization’s quality program.
Summarize three main aspects of the role of hospice managers and leaders.
Differentiate between compliant and non-compliant care processes.
