Several years ago, “Help me, I’ve fallen and can’t get up”, was an expression used as a marketing tool by an emergency response system company to demonstrate the vulnerability of elders during falls and other health emergencies. To some generations, it has become a symbol of this vulnerability and the importance of maintaining constant vigilance for the well-being of long-term care residents. This care includes not only the elderly but also the physically as well as mentally disabled.
