Recently, the Activated Insights team made the trip to Austin, Texas to attend the Home Care Association of America Annual Leadership Conference. While there, our team had a fantastic time being able to rub shoulders with many influencers in the home care industry.

We asked our Activated Insights team who attended the conference, what they liked best about attending the conference and this is what they had to say:

Kristi Larson – Senior Account Executive

Attending the conference was an opportunity for her to see how the industry is growing at such a rapid rate and all the possibilities within the home care business. She enjoyed reconnecting with our clients and hearing their story about how Activated Insights has helped their company grow. Seeing our Leaders in Excellence be recognized was also a very rewarding experience for her.

Kristi loved hearing the different speakers. She especially connected with Peter Ross’s speech as he explained how the HCAOA advocates for home care owners. So much work is done behind the scenes to protect both the agency and their clients whom they care for.

Aaron Marcum – CEO of Activated Insights

The CEO of Activated Insights was awarded a very prestigious award while at the conference. Aaron said “I was humbled and honored to receive the Sheila McMackin Leadership Award. It certainly was a highlight for me personally and created a sense of gratitude for my amazing team at Activated Insights.”

Other notable experiences for him were being able to spend quality time with some of our key customers, such as Brightstar, Right at Home, Bayada, and HouseWorks. He also enjoyed the time spent with Activated Insights strategic partners as well and learning about what they have in store for the industry.

Like Kristi, Aaron also loved hearing the insights of all the speakers. Vicky Lee Lauren of Right at Home, who was awarded Caregiver of the Year was a notable speech for Aaron. Hearing her remarks of how she just loved the caregiving industry was fantastic. You could tell she loved caregiving.

We are strong advocates for joining the HCAOA because of the many benefits available to home care agencies. Not only can you build connections with industry leaders working to influence continued improvements in quality of care, you build a stronger alliance in efforts to advocate a balance in regulations encouraging and recognizing industry best practices. We were also thrilled to see the other awards presented during the conference went to individuals who work for home care agencies that are using our satisfaction management services. A special congratulation to these two incredible women:

• Julie Ferguson who received the Allen Hager Legislative Advocacy Award. Julie is with Advanced Health Care in Lakewood, WA
• Vicky-Lee Laydon, this year’s HCAOA Caregiver of the Year. Vicky-Lee is a Home Care Aide with Right at Home in Sarasota, FL
