This course provides care professionals working in home-based care with important information about the safety needs of clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. It discusses fall prevention, promoting safety when using assistive devices, addressing wandering, and alternatives to the use of restraints. It also covers household safety, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, gives tips on fire safety, and discusses gun safety for clients with firearms in their homes.
