Orthopoxvirus, or “monkeypox,” is a rare pox-like disease that is caused by infection with the monkeypox virus. Use this fact sheet to educate your care team on how they can stay safe and keep those in their care safe as well.

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of Monkeypox 

  • Learn how the virus is transmitted from one person to another  

  • Understand standard precautions that can be taken to prevent infection 

  • Care for a client with a suspected or confirmed case of Monkeypox
