Great Place to Work's Very First Book...

Great Place to Work co-founder Robert Levering publishes his book called 100 Best Companies to Work For in America. It becomes a national bestseller and remains in print for several editions.

GPTW Institute Officially Launched

Robert Levering founds Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco with Professor Amy Lyman of U.C. Davis, who had pioneered a new way of workplace surveys.

Great Place to Work's Publishing partner Fortune Magazine publishes its first 100 Best list, called the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Southwest Airlines ranks #1.

First Senior Living Company Recognized...

Activated Insights co-founder Jacquelyn Kung is working at a senior living company and leads their initiative to become the first seniors housing and care organization to apply on Fortune's 100 Best in 2008.

Research on Engaging Employees in Senior Care...

John Hopkins publishes doctoral candidate Jacquelyn Kung's thesis called "Do I Stay or Do I Leave? - Correlates of Employee Turnover in Senior Care." In it, she shows how employee engagement and turnover are correlated in senior care.

Using Great Place to Work Institute data, Wharton/LBS Professor Alex Edmans publishes his peer-reviewed work showing employee satisfaction leads to increased firm value. He delivers a TEDTalk and pens a popular article in Harvard Business Review.

McKnights Breaks the News...

Great Place to Work's new President and CEO approves a new mission-aligned initiative to launch Activated Insights as a company that serves the senior care sector. It was founded by the small SF group who met in 2011-2012. McKnight's broke the news publicly.

We Are Growing Quickly...

Activated Insights surveys employees across nearly 2,000 senior care locations and conducts its first Great Place for care customer survey. The team grows - and we love to visit our customers!.
